Parkham Parish Children's Painting Competition Rules

Important Note:

Parents wishing for their children to compete in the competition and be eligible to win prizes must have registered on the Parish website by the closing date of 19th July 2024. To register, please follow this link.


  • Online registration Opens: 1st July 2024
  • Artwork to be received by Parkham Parish school no later than 19 July 2024


  • Up to 7 years: Storybook Characters
  • 8 to 11 years: Olympics or Euros Football


  • Up to 7 years:
    • First place & Second Place: 2 Milky Way Tickets
    • Third place: £10 Merry Harriers voucher
  • 8 to 11 years:
    • First place & Second Place: 2 Milky Way Tickets
    • Second place: £10 Merry Harriers voucher

Size of Artwork:

  • No smaller than A4 size (29.7 cm x 21.0 cm) and no larger than A2 size (59.4 cm x 42.0 cm)

Medium: Acceptable mediums include watercolour, gouache, acrylics, oils, crayons, markers, pastels, and poster colour.

Closing Date & Submission Process:

  • Each participant can submit only one entry.
  • Artworks must be submitted flat.
  • Artwork to be received by Parkham Parish school no later than 19 July 2024.
  • Each painting will be photographed for upload to the Parish website.


To maintain full confidentiality of entrants, no identifiable children's details such as names will be shown with the paintings on the website other than a serial number only known to the organizers to identify the originator of the painting.

Originality: All artwork must be original and unaided.

Compliance: Any submission not complying with the above rules may be disqualified.


  • Two age categories: up to 7 years and 8 to 11 years.
  • Resident within Parkham Parish or attending Parkham Village school.

Judging Criteria:

  • By the number of votes received on the website.
  • All Parkham parishioners able to vote.
  • Each household restricted to one vote per category.
  • The paintings with the highest three votes win in each category.

Announcement of Results & Presentation of Prizes:

  • All submissions will be uploaded to the Parish website for voting by parishioners.
  • Winners will be announced on the Parish website.
  • The date for the presentation of prizes will be confirmed and published on the website.
  • Prizes will be presented by the Chair of the Parish Council at the school celebration assembly.
